Hole in the Wall Method

Wade has finally decided to work on his office. He has unpacked boxes (moving boxes from Atlanta) and bought a new leather chair. He has repainted his old entertainment center and end table. Now he has a bunch of books and no wall space for shelves – sloped ceilings all around. The obvious solution was to put shelves in the wall. He started the project on Friday and says he will be done and ready for painting by Tuesday. I’m not holding my breath – partly because I don’t want to paint them. The picture below is one bookshelf. He plans to do the same thing on the other side too.

  1. I wanted to tell you that one of the houses Rick and I looked at, had built in file cabinets, very similar to what Wade is doing with the bookshelf. They lock too! Pretty niffy idea when you are dealing with a bonus room that has slanted ceilings. There is always lots more space if you build into the walls!

  2. Carol – we are talking about a bed that slides out of the wall too. Then it is an office most of the time and a guest room when we need it!

  3. Sounds like a plan to me! Rick and I need someplace to camp when we come up there!
