Wade / Holly / Toadfrogs

Friends in DC

Wade and I both slept in and got up just in time to get Marshall and his friends from the airport. Marshall and a few friends are in DC to run the Marine Corps Marathon. We managed to get all seven of us in our car and deliver them to their hotel, which is conveniently right down the road from my Aunt’s house. We had lunch with them and then headed home to finish up our costumes.

I made another airport run to deliver Jamie Richey to the official B and B Party House and then returned to my Aunt’s for dinner. Wade and I got dressed up and headed out the door. I think our costumes are self-evident, but I will explain. We are both working games. Mine is the simple Tic-Tac-Toe and Wade is Operation. Yes, Wade’s costume works. His nose lights up and he buzzes if you hit the metal while trying to get out the pieces.

Wade had a great night. His costume held up and continued working all night and he won first prize in the costume contest. The prize is a mug picturing previous years’ winners and a bottle of alcohol. We don’t drink so I believe Jamie ended up with the bottle. Wade did finish the evening off with a try at the ice luge with Traci.

  1. Tell wade congrats on the win! Something to be said for getting to the competetion on time for increasing your chances. I’m sorry I missed you guys while you were up here. We headed out Friday night and I had a project due Saturday evening for class. By the time I finished all of that, I just didn’t have the time to make it out to the party, sadly. Next year!
Perhaps a rain check on those cookies,

  2. Jamie was the original alcohol recipient. Then he realized yesterday that he couldn’t carry a bottle of liquid on the plane with him, and didn’t want to risk it breaking in his checked baggage. He passed it along to Traci and I, so we are now the default owners. Rest assured, we’ll give it a good home!

  3. Matt – I hated that we didn’t get to see you. We just ran out of time. Maybe we’ll make a return trip up there before too long.
Cassie – I am glad to know the bottle found a good home. Enjoy!
