Buffy Mania

We all know I am addicted to tv shows – most of the time the weirder the better. The one show with a cult following that I didn’t watch was Buffy, the Vampire Slayer. One would think this show would be up my alley – even I thought so. But I never could get into the show. I’d catch an episode here and there and rarely even finish the episode.

Well, my friend Steven recently watched the show from first episode to last. I told him I would give it a try when I finished my class. Well, I am no longer taking my EMT class. I went over to Steven’s the other night and we started watching Season 1. I think we watched four episodes that night and I was sent home with a bunch of DVDs. The jury is still out on whether I like it or not, but I am definitely giving it a good faith effort.

  1. As in many TV shows, Buffy Season 1 is only so-so… although Sarah Michelle Gellar does wear incredibly short skirts, if you’re in to that 😉 If you can make it through seasons 2 and 3, the best in the series, I have to believe you will appreciate this show.

  2. Well I am halfway through Season 2, which I think is a vast impovement over Season 1. I tend to always want to finish whatever I start so chances are I will watch them all.

  3. I finally went through all the Buffy’s last summer and I have to say that after the first season, I had a hard time figuring out how the show got picked up for a 2nd season, let alone the 6 additional years for which it ran.
However, Mike is right that the next two seasons really put the show on solid ground. Once you finish Buffy, you will, of course, have to watch Angel…which also had a rocky first season.
Since you have already seen Firefly, thanks to a handsome, selfless, and above all modest, redhead, you will have completed watching all of Joss Whedon’s television work. Pat yourself on the back for a job well done.

  4. My friend Steven is providing Buffy for me and has already informed me that where the Buffy DVDs end, the Angel DVDs will begin. I watched three Buffy episodes last night. If only there were more hours in the day…
